About this plant

The flowering tops of Achillea millefolium contain chamazulene, an anti-inflammatory sesquiterpene, and achillein, a hemostatic glycoalkaloid. One of the most important Viking battlefield herbs, with seeds recovered from 1,000-year-old Scandinavian graves confirming that warriors carried it during raids. Featured in the Anglo-Saxon Nine Herbs Charm, which invokes Odin.
