About this plant

The dried gum exudate of Acacia senegal contains arabinogalactan, a complex polysaccharide with prebiotic and emulsifying properties used as a pharmaceutical excipient worldwide. Traded across the Sahara for over 4,000 years. Ancient Egyptians used it in mummification and medicinal preparations documented in the Ebers Papyrus around 1550 BCE.
