About this plant
The dried oleo-gum-resin of Ferula scorodosma contains ferulic acid esters and organosulfur compounds with carminative and antispasmodic properties. Known in Ayurveda as hingu, traditionally used for digestive complaints across Indian, Persian and Arabic medicine for over 2,500 years. The Romans imported it as a substitute for the legendary silphium, prized to extinction by the 1st century CE.
